Well, it took some doing, but finally the day has arrived when we have listed our very first pattern on our very own website. How long did it take us to get here? Well, about a year, maybe a year and a half!
It might sound like we sat with our feet up for a long time (and in fairness, while we were test stitching our patterns, that was the case!), but when we first sat down complaining that there wasn’t much out there that we felt was stitch-worthy and decided to design our own, we had no idea about how to get them from our heads onto aida.
The easy bit, was developing ‘The Book of Dreams’ which contains all our ideas for patterns. Strangely, in our first release of 5 patterns, only two are from ‘TB0D’. Then we had to work out how to turn them into stitch patterns – some by computer manipulation and some by hand.
Testing came next – and this took a really long time. Annie went from absolute beginner (one small Christmas decoration stitched at the age of 13) to the biggest pattern we’ve created so far (200 stitches x 200 stitches) and Alison steamed ahead, finishing a New York pattern in record time, although was stopped in her tracks on the second pattern when she adopted a cat who LOVES to play with string, but not as much as she loves to play with floss!
Well, here it is – New York By Night – we hope you enjoy stitching it as much as we did!
